About David

David Stevens is a native of the Florida panhandle and an integral part of both the FSU College Republcans and the FFCR, our statewide affiliation. Now in his fourth year as a CR, David has climbed his way to the number two position in the state beside chairman Scott Wacholtz of the University of Miami. His previous work for prominent Republicans in the Randy Johnson and Katherine Harris campaigns has made hime well suited for any job within the Republican Party. Previously, David has served as the chairman of the chapter here at FSU in 2005/2006 where he worked hard to maintain club membership and involvement in an off-election year.

In his service to the state federation, David has worked to improve the image of the state to the Republican Community and establishing it as a vital part of the Florida political process. He is also head of the state constitutional committee. Nevertheless, he has not forgotten his home school at the state level. David remains an active member in the school's chapter and has recently announced his intention to run for chairman of the FFCR, which would effectively bring the chairman's position back to FSU for the first time in several years.

When not traveling around the state for FFCR business, David is usually occupied with some other political business around Tallahassee. He goes back and forth between campaigns and other policy thinktanks squeazing classes in between. Next year, David plans to begin law school somewhere in the state of Florida but makes it clear that FSU will always be his home. He invites you to come get involved with CRs both at the local level and the state level; he hopes to see you both at our meetings on Thursday night and on Saturday, February 3rd when FSU plays host to a quarterly meeting for the FFCR.

Lyndsi Thomas
State Second Vice Chairman (Panhandle Region)

About Lyndsi

Lyndsi Thomas, like David, hails from the Florida panhandle and has devoted her service to both the FFCR and the FSU chapter of College Republicans. Though she is a relative new addition to FSU (only in her second year locally) she has already proven her ability and was unanimously appointed by the FSU delegation to lead the Panhandle Region at the state level. This was a unique challenge for Lyndsi, the first person to hold this position, because of its isolation from the rest of the state and the fact that it only contained one school. She has worked hard to overcome adversity however and found great success in building chapters at both Tallahassee Community College and the University of West Florida that will be key allies for FSU in the future.

Although she is only in her second year here, Lyndsi's impact has been great pushing for greater, more rational debate on topics and the all around use of common sense. A keen eye for what needs to be done and how to do it has made her a strong leadership figure both in the club and in the state. It is her goal for the future of the FSU CRs to set up a network and build relationships within the panhandle region that will be important for us to grow. Lyndsi recognizes the need for FSU to be proactive in this all important Capital region to benefit the state and the Republican party as a whole to secure a better future for all.

Beyond CRs, Lyndsi is preparing for graduation with a degree Public Relations. She looks forward to the opportunities that await her afterwards and wants to meet them head on. Lyndsi is also a firm believer in her Baptist faith which she attributes her conservative values to as well as her drive to help her community and make herself into an all around better person. She would like to invite everybody to become an active member in the CRs be it at the state or local level because it's the best way to get involved and make a difference both in yourself and your community.
