About Ryan

Ryan Smith comes from Florida's Space Coast and knows what it means to be a Reagan Republican. His old fashioned values, common sense, and work ethic make him part of a dying breed of true conservatives in this modern political era. Still, it was his personable character and timeless dedication of manpower that won him the job of Vice-Chairman when the position at the last election. Prior to his current position, Ryan also served a term as Membership-Chair and led an unprcedented effort to drive up membership, a daunting task for the club post-election.

Every Wednesday for over a year Ryan has commited his soul to the CR table in Oglesby Union. He has dedicated himself to spreading the word about CRs and frequently, willingly takes on the thankless grudgework that allows the club to opperate successfully. Though he takes his job seriously he makes note that it's important to have fun doing it. Oftentimes Ryan is the one to bring news and policy to our attention bringing a wide range of deep insight and spontaneous (often ironic or comical) wisdom that fuels lively debate and passionate discussion on Thursday nights.  He also serves as the state's Second Vice-Chairman for the panhandle region, working with all of the area's schools for the greater good.

Ryan's keen insight into politics comes in no small part to his nose being consistently crammed into a Political Science book. Chances are at any given time his attention is divided between Fox News, the Drudge Report, and Dr. Souva's latest assignment. You can rest assured however that he will be at Thursday night's meeting and encouraging everyone within earshot to come along too. He invites you as well of course in hopes that you can help fulfill his goal of making CRs the biggest and best party on campus.
